Life Legacy
Pearson, Brian Eugene
Brian Eugene Pearson of Olds passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at the age of 56 years. Brian was born in Chilliwack, BC. His father was in the military and was posted in many different places. Brian lived in Yorkton, SK, at CFB Brandon, ON and at Calgary, AB. He graduated from Lord Beaverbrook High School in 1972. After graduation he went on to obtain his journeyman ticket as a partsman. Brian then worked at R. Angus before becoming a Trades Instructor at Keyano College in Ft. McMurray. Overtime, Brian got his fill of the North and moved on to work as the parts manager at Stirdon Systems in Olds. Stirdon was eventually bought out by UFA, Brian continued on with the new company in the same position until January of 2010. After 26 years of service Brian got the opportunity to enjoy a few months of early retirement. He enjoyed hiking the Great Divide Trail with his best friend Daryl. Over the years they walked from Waterton at the US border all the way to Banff, AB. Brian was born legally blind; in January of 2009, he received cataract surgery which allowed him to have excellent vision. He could see the world in a whole new way… it was truly a miracle. Brian was an all around good man. At the age of 44 years he met his true love Valerie and married for the first time. They enjoyed 12 years (9 married) of bliss. Brian loved animals (as they did him), nature, adventure, travel, but most of all his family. At the time of his death, Brian was working on the completion of his home and garden renovation; which will be beautiful when finished. His good nature, humour, and devotion to family and friends will be missed by all. Til’ we meet again. Brian is survived by his loving wife Valerie; step-daughters: Tara Cox and Sharron Dungey as well as step-son Shawn Cox. His memory will be further cherished by his granddaughters: Kaitlin, Breanna, Kristen, Marissa, Mariah, and Maddison. Also left to mourn his passing are his brothers: Jim (Joanne), Warren (Sandy) and Darcey Pearson; his sisters: Sharon McFetridge and Gail Morrish as well as many loving nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins. Brian will also be truly missed by his best friend Daryl (Bev) Freidt and many more loving friends and last but not least his dog Gus. Brian was predeceased by his mother Ann Pearson and father Norman Pearson. A memorial service for Brian Pearson will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, July 12, 2010 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, 4302 - 57 Ave, Olds with Father Maurice Okolie officiating.
