Life Legacy
Alfred (Dick) Richard Pihl
Dick's first professional employment was 9 years in the RCAF. As a farmer he never quite was successful so he moved on to working at the Harmattan Gas Plant in several capacities. He achieved his 4th class Power Engineering ticket and his certification to run the valve shop.
His health forced him into early retirement so he spent time Rving around Alberta and then Arizona all winter where he enjoyed his many hobbies and friends.
Dick's greatest pride and joy was watching his grandkids mature from infants to adults.
He loved working with wood and his most recent accomplished project was the building of the miniature church at Westerdale.
With the help of his lung doctor, Dr. Field at the Foothills Medical Center Dick fought his lung disease for many years. When the cancer took over it was more of a fight than his body could handle.
Alfred Richard Pihl born September 28, 1932 in Calgary passed away in Olds July 19, 2010 at the age of 77.
