McCracken

Mr. Herbert Glenn McCracken passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at the age of 80 years. He was born Friday, February 28, 1930 in Calgary, Alberta to parents George Herbert McCracken and Audrey McCracken (nee Paterson). Glenn was the oldest child born of this union. His father George was born in Alliston, Ontario and Audrey his mother was born in Westcott, Alberta. Glenn moved with his family to the farm at Harmattan, Alberta in 1947. He resided there until his passing.
Glenn volunteered with the Olds Grizzlys for many years in security and then as a goal judge. He was a charter member of the Mountain View Marksman Association and helped at Branch #105 of the Royal Canadian Legion by volunteering for the weekly Bingo. Glenn also loved to travel and visited many countries. He is survived and will be dearly missed by his brother Don McCracken, sister Jean (Joe) Sargent and nieces Diane (Kevin) Fjordbotten and Arlene (Jim) Brownlee. He will also be missed by his great- nieces Krista Fjordbotten and Joanna Brownlee as well as great-nephews Jesse Fjordbotten and Alex Brownlee. Glenn was predeceased by his father in 1979 and mother in 1995. A memorial service for Glenn McCracken will be held at Mountain View Funeral Chapel, 5226 – 46 Street, Olds on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. His urn will be laid to rest in the McCracken family plots at the Olds Cemetery.
